Introduced in 1962, the ford galaxie 500xl was marketed as a higher trim offering of the second-generation galaxie, which was introduced in 1960 and produced until 1964. This z-code 1964 ford galaxie 500xl two-door hardtop fastback was built november 4th, 1963 at ford’s dallas, texas plant and originally delivered to the oklahoma city area where it was sold at verland-brewster ford in cheyenne, oklahoma.  powered by an optional fe-series 390ci v8, the engine produces 303 horsepower and 390 ft.-lbs. Of torque and is mated to a cruise-o-matic 3-speed automatic transmission. Under the hood, the galaxie features manual brakes and was originally a manual steering car but now features a borgeson power steering conversion. Originally finished in rangoon red with a white vinyl interior according to the door tag, the exterior of the galaxie has been repainted in the original color while the interior has been completely redone in red vinyl and is in great shape. Interior features for the 500xl include factory bucket seats, center console, and an original am radio which still works, while the dash features a speedometer and temperature and fuel gauges with warning lights for the generator and oil pressure. Additionally, the car features almost all of its original glass except for the windshield, which is a common occurrence on cars of this vintage. The galaxie rides on a set of pirelli p zero nero 235/50zr18 low profile tires which are mounted on a set of 18-inch ford racing “bullitt” wheels finished in gunmetal with a polished lip which combined with the rangoon red exterior produce a killer look. Out of nearly 800,000 galaxies built in 1964, only 8-percent were 500xl two-door hardtop fastbacks, with just 58,306 built, and even though it was the most popular model of the 500xl compared to the convertible and sedan and sold in greater numbers, it’s easy to see why it was the most popular model that year and the best selling 500xl model of any year they were produced. This ’64 ford galaxie 500xl looks great inside and out and runs and drives as great as it looks. Bucket Seats

Motivated by the belief that what “wins on sunday, sells on monday”, pontiac was highly focused on its racing and performance image as a means to sell cars in the early sixties and pontiac general manager bunky knudsen believed it was that focus that had propelled pontiac to become the third best-selling car marque behind chevrolet and ford during that time. With names like grand prix, bonneville and lemans, pontiac’s carefully crafted high performance image was suddenly in jeopardy when general motors’ management decreed on january 24, 1963 that pontiac and its sister division chevrolet eliminate all participation in racing activities and support thereof. Wanger, along with pontiac engineers bill collins and john delorean developed the gto with the idea of stuffing pontiac’s 389 engine in a tempest and to get around gm’s limit on big displacement, high horsepower engines in mid-sized cars envisioned it as an option package, which was not subject to approval by gm management. The result was that the gto package thus became an option on the lemans, which itself was a higher trim level of the tempest until it became a separate model in 1963, while the gto because a separate model in 1966. Built the second week of march in pontiac, michigan, this 1964 pontiac gto has been fully restored and is in stunning condition and as a first generation gto the cowl tag indicates that it is a lemans and was ordered with the gto option, code 5n. Powered by a factory-correct 389ci v8 with the infamous tri-power 3x2bbl setup the engine produces 348 horsepower and 428 ft. The engine itself is stamped with the correct “769” block code which not only indicates that it is a 389, but also that it is a tri-power 389 and an m-21 engine as well. Ordered with nearly every factory option available, this ’64 gto was special ordered with a 3. 90:1 axle with safe-t-track limited slip differential, heavy duty radiator, and metallic brake linings and also features a factory tachometer, custom sports steering wheel, custom hubcaps with spinners and brake cooling vents, and a factory optional handling kit which consisted of 20:1 ratio quick steering and extra-stiff heavy duty shocks. Originally marimba red, the gto has been completely redone in ppg yorktown blue poly which looks absolutely stunning alongside the fully restored black vinyl interior which features factory optional tinted glass and a pushbutton am radio as well as an optional console. Originally ordered without seatbelts, the gto now features front and rear seatbelts for safety, as well as a set of pontiac floor mats. As mentioned above, the gto rides on a set of stock wheels with factory optional hubcaps and they are wrapped in us royal safety 800 7. 50-14 bias ply red line tires made by coker which give the car that period-correct muscle car look. Although pontiac upper management had serious doubts about the success of the gto, general manager pete estes was convinced of its success and pushed it through to the dealers and although initially limited to a production run of 5,000, the result of estes’ vision saw 32,450 gto’s built in 1964. Based on the Plymouth Belvedere, the new for ’68 Roadrunner was designed as a no frills mid-size performance car available with limited options to keep the price tag low but still offer high performance and in the first year of production, Plymouth sold more than double the amount of Roadrunners they anticipated, with 45,000 rolling off the production line, mak. As the demand for muscle cars increased in the late 1960’s, many manufacturers began to tack on extra features in an effort to increase prices and as the muscle car market moved away from its beginnings as relatively inexpensive, no-frills, go fast cars, Plymouth responded with the release of the Roadrunner to get back to those roots Tachometer✔ Bucket Seats

Carson, ca black · 8 cylinder as the demand for muscle cars increased in the late 1960’s many manufacturers began to tack on extra features in an effort to increase prices and as the muscle car market moved away from its beginnings as relatively inexpensive, no-frills, go fast cars, plymouth responded with the release of the roadrunner to get back to those roots. Based on the plymouth belvedere, the new for ’68 roadrunner was designed as a no-frills mid-size performance car available with limited options to keep the price tag low but still offer high performance and in the first year of production, plymouth sold more than double the amount of roadrunners they anticipated, with 45,000 rolling off the production line making the roadrunner a huge hit with the public. Sporting a redesign in 1970, the new plymouth roadrunner updates included a new grille, hood, front fenders and quarter panels, as well as a new cloth and vinyl bench seat, improved optional front disc brakes, and even non-functional scoops in the rear quarters. This 1970 plymouth roadrunner represents the last year of the first generation bodystyle and has been fully restored with roughly 4,000 miles on it since completion. Built september 3rd, 1969 at the st. Louis assembly plant, this roadrunner began life as a jamaica blue metallic 383 car but has since undergone a complete transformation during restoration. Under the hood now lives a fire-breathing 440ci v8 that has been balanced and blueprinted with a forged crank and rods, mopar solid lifter cam, edelbrock performer rpm aluminum cylinder heads and intake, t&d machine stainless steel roller rockers, holley 870cfm street avenger 4-barrel carburetor, tti ceramic coated headers with 2-inch primaries, and a complete msd ignition with billet distributor, blaster coil, tach adapter, and rev-limiting ignition module. Other features under the hood include a be cool aluminum radiator with a derale dual electric fan setup with controller, butler radiator overflow tank, oil cooler, an adjustable fuel pressure regulator with gauge, billet drive pulleys, and mopar performance finned valve covers. Dyno-tuned and tested, this 440 made over 500 horsepower and puts it to the ground through a heavy-duty a727 torqueflite 3-speed automatic transmission with a 2500rpm stall converter and mild shift kit with a 3. 91 positraction rear end out back. To stop this beast, the factory optional power drum brakes were swapped over to a manual factory single-piston disc brake setup up front with stock drums in the rear. In keeping with the black on black theme, the exterior has been repainted black and shows well with a few minor imperfections while other exterior features include accessory roadrunner stripes, factory optional hoodpins original to the car, and with the exception of the windshield and driver rear quarter window, all the glass is dated 1969 while inside, the all black interior has been completely redone with new carpet, headliner, and upholstery, with the original bench seat swapped out in favor of bucket seats. In the dash, the gauge cluster features a speedometer and an accessory rallye tachometer with clock, along with gauges for fuel, water temperature, oil pressure, and amps, while under the dash there are accessory gauges for temperature, oil pressure, and battery voltage to give more precise readings. The roadrunner rides on a set of firestone firehawk indy 500 tires mounted on a set of mopar rallye wheels with 275/60r15’s out back with 235’s up front that look great and give the car an aggressive look to match whats under the hood. Overall, this roadrunner is a great example of what plymouth intended in the late 1960’s and early 70’s, a bare-bones muscle car whose main focus is performance and this roadrunner surely lives up to its name with over 500 horsepower on tap and although it looks as great as it drives and would be right at home at any car show or meet, it was built to drive and belongs out on the road eating up the streets.
